Recruiting!...
We need a coordinator to help
manage the office and oversee our various projects. Can you turn madness
into a well oiled efficient organisation? Then talk to us about this
part time role for the next 3 months.
Here's the job description:
Cycle
Action
Auckland
Coordinator
(Part
- time position,
8
hours per week over a 3 month period)
The Cycle
Action strategic planning meeting identified that the organisation is
becoming increasingly complex whilst more and more demands are being
place on the members time and resources.
To
be able to meet the opportunities for advocacy arising in the present
climate Cycle Action would benefit from the assistance of a paid
coordinator. Their role would be to set up and establish systems and
coordinate the priority projects - website and communications with
members. This will assist Cycle Action to move forward at a faster rate
than is possible currently with the hard work of the voluntary committee
members who have too little time to spare.
After
a period of familiarisation the coordinator can engage and manage an
intern to assist in this role.
The
immediate need is for a Coordinator to assist delegated committee
members with the following tasks:
Ø
Administration
- Set up and manage office systems, make bookings for hall for meetings,
pay accounts etc (submit accounts for payment)
Ø
Organise
Cycle Action monthly meetings – call for agenda items and reports,
write up and email/post on website agendas and minutes.
Ø
Assist committee members with specific projects, in
particular the website development and newsletter and communications
with bike shops
Ø
Follow up on the monthly minutes
Ø
Meeting
follow up – correspondence etc
Ø
Coordinate
volunteers from membership to assist with projects.
Ø
Keep a
monthly budget of office and coordinator expenses, prepare monthly bills for payment approval
Lower
priority tasks:
Ø
Collate
submissions on TLA strategic plans etc, ensuring submissions are made on
time by Cycle Action
We
estimate 8 hours per week over a 3 month period (or more hours per week
over a shorter period) at
the contractors rate of $20/hour
= $160/week.
The role reports
to the chairperson who represents the Cycle Action committee, please
apply by e-mail to: chair@caa.org.nz
